July 27, 2006 Clock Day and New Banners!
Posted by: TomFulp
Few announcements...

Clock Day is on August 15th! This will be the FIFTH birthday of the Clock Crew and to celebrate, we are giving out XBOX 360s to the TOP THREE Clock Day submissions! These will be selected by a panel of Clock Crew elders and NG staff.

Over the years, Clock Day has gone from a day of mischief to an official Newgrounds holiday. Clock Day 2005 yielded tons of great submissions and I'm excited to see the Clock Crew has in store for us this year!

In other news, I -finally- updated the link to NG page to include banners from Noob-Antichrist's banner contest! The top five winners are now at the top of the page. Big thanks to everyone who contributed. Sorry for taking so long to update that page!

If you want a chance to be immortalized as part of the Newgrounds collective, check out this thread by esko_man, who is in the process of painting a skateboard ramp with NG graffiti!

Fans of the arts should also check out Stamper's latest art thread, where you must draw NG characters in an alternate reality. Mine is on page four. Also check out this other goofy thread, where people are drawing their own renditions of Tankmen!

July 26, 2006 Comic-Con Catch-Up
Posted by: TomFulp
I came down with something on my last day in San Diego, so I'm a bit under the weather at the moment. It's been making it harder to get all caught up, so I apologize to anyone who tried to contact me over the past week and got ignored. I'm trying to respond to as much as possible and solve all the little problems that arise, but I'm also trying to catch up with the onslaught of new issues, questions and comments that keep pouring in. :)

Comic-Con was a big success! Castle Crashers was a huge hit with the crowd. We had Tankmen t-shirts for sale and it was exciting to see how many people were already familiar with the series.

A ton of NG artists were in attendance this year, including the creators of Pico vs. Convict, Madness, Work It! - Olskoo NES, College University, Xombie, Tomorrow's Nobodies, Broken Saints, Joe Zombie, TMNT: REBEL, Stickmess, I-Mockery and StrawberryClock himself. Sorry for anyone I missed, my head is a bit cloudy. :)

I'm back at the NG HQ now and we are rolling on a lot of exciting projects. The redesign continues to push forward, a new episode of Tankmen is in the works, and we have some fun developments concerning the Audio Portal - more on that later. I'll also be cranking away at Castle Crashers, so that maybe we can have a new demo to show at PAX next month in Seattle. If you are in the Seattle area, be sure to come check out the Penny Arcade Expo! We will be there showing the Castle Crashers demo, as well as selling fun stuff!

July 25, 2006 Sigh... downtime
Posted by: Tim
Yeah, it was the fileserver again. The NetApp 3020 that's replacing our current box is sitting on my desk. I hope to have it in early next week so that I'll not miss another (insert important event here). Anyway, apologies as usual :(

July 25, 2006 Huge 2006 Comic-Con Photo Album!
Posted by: Mockery
of I-Mockery.com
Ahoy again fellow Newgrounders!

As promised, I've put up all my photos from the recent 2006 San Diego Comic-Con. It's 8 full pages o' pics of the toys, the movies, the video games, and of course the crazy costumes. And yep, there's some pics of the Behemoth's booth as well.

Even more shocking, it appears as though a certain Newgrounds office PS2 thief showed his evil face. Looks like he felt guilty about stealing their PS2 system and decided to return it to Tom in person!

Hope you all enjoy the photo album, and be sure to post some of your own Comic-Con photos here on the Newgrounds forums if you took any!

the 2006 comic-con went so awesome. what a boost of energy, chaps & chapettes. we got to meet tons of cool people (and castle crashers made those people happy). you can see a video of the behemoth's latest game, CASTLECRASHERS, at this location or this location.

many NG series were there this year including tomorrow's nobodies, broken saints, xombie, dr. shroud, and college university! check out the july 13th posting by tom a few down to snag the links.

post your pictures if you stopped by! Luis came by and dropped off the newgrounds sketchbook which looks quite cool. i'm sure tom will put something together showing it off. or maybe he'll keep it quiet and you have to come to the top secret office! not sure.

official castlecrashers website - which slows slower footage than what we had at comic-con - www.castlecrashers.com

oh, and check out the audio portal. someone wants me to tell you that. :) big button at the top of this site. speaking of audio i sold my music CD at the convention and someone loved it so much they brought me a couple watermelons! Much thanks MATTHEW! you rule.

everyone check out the latest MEGA 64 dvd. that stuff is a RIOT!! bunch of great guys, so support them if you can. you won't regret it and i guarantee that.

post pics of comic-con in this thread or the prior if you got em!
